Bahir: Most of the naval committee’s consultations have concluded. There are three questions: A) the naval plan – manpower – budget, B) organization – relations – services, C) questions of personality.
– Bunche officially informed the delegation that the Baghdad government has authorized Transjordan to discuss the matter of the Triangle on its behalf, and the Iraqi forces will withdraw. The message is signed by Muhammad Fadhel [al-]Jamali and reads as follows:
“The Iraqi Gov. has authorised the Transjordan Delegation to negotiate for the sector occupied by Iraqi Armies in the name of Transjordan herself as the Iraqi Army intends to hand over its front to the Transjordan Army.”
– I received the material on the soldiers to be discharged.

For item 5 [there’s] a detailed list – will be received in the coming days. Item 1 includes about 450 settlement members who are needed as agricultural instructors for new land settlements.

In the Personnel Department, soldiers are not listed by their previous occupation. That information isn’t available at the recruitment center either. Lists with respect to agriculture are available at the Agricultural Center. A list of industry and construction workers is available at the Ministry of Labor. A list of bank clerks – at the Ministry of Finance.
The Personnel Department received a count of the students from the Technion, the University and the institutions.
