Reception for the American ambassador in the morning.
– In the afternoon Knesset. Committees again. Never-ending objections.
– Rabbi Goronczik is complaining that there’s no money for dishes [?] and they have nothing. Belkind was sent to Europe – obtained dishes in Germany and Czechoslovakia, returned to get the money (P£ 25,000) – and over here Kaplan is claiming that there’s no foreign zloty. It’s possible to obtain dishes in the country, requires another P£ 5,000 in addition to Rabbi Fishman’s 5,000. The dishes in the country are 50% more expensive than abroad. (Belkind’s head of equipment in the Logistics Department). Will require another 20,000 for dishes to ensure the Sabbath.
– In the afternoon Knesset.
– In the evening a reception with construction workers.
