Shaul [Avigur]: The fate of the procurement budget; [we] can get credit in Czechoslovakia for a year (for the purchase of 300 Besas, ammunition ($2170 per Besa)[)]. According to Kozlowski [we] can purchase cannons on credit for two years in Switzerland and France on the condition that we provide 3 million immediately, 7 million over the course of two years, semi-annual payments. I told Shaul that it’s easier to obtain cash now than to commit to pay in another year – because then we’ll be under pressure for housing and immigration, and they won’t be attentive to defense needs. Shaul requested 2 million for now.
