The conference concluded early – although the entire program was completed according to schedule. 11 lectures were heard, 4 last night, six in the morning, 1 in the afternoon.
Remez concluded with a nice allegory about position and opposition: “Fruit trees were asked: Why don’t you sound your voice? They replied: We do not need it – our fruits attest to what we are. Barren trees were asked: Why do you sound your voice? They replied: Would that our voice were heard and noticed.” The audience understood and enjoyed this. Surprisingly, during the day as well, Beit Ha’Am’s auditorium was full – although not crammed it as on the opening night.
Reportedly the Mapam gathering at Esther [Cinema] only had 250 people.
