At 11 a conversation with the Commissioner that didn't go well. I'd been preceded by [Dr.] Khalidi [of the Arab Higher Committee]. His Majesty's government's announcement about withdrawing [from the country] all at once, rather than by sections, is puzzling, and I don't know what's hiding behind it.
