Discussion with [David Zvi] Pinkas on Defense Committee matters: elections, conduct and court-martial, Shekem [the army’s food service], exemptions. Pinkas complains that a company consisting of [soldiers] born in 1931 was sent to Jaffa to be available for the military governor – and it’s atrophying; the governor claims that he doesn’t need them. This needs to be looked into.
Defense Committee meeting. I gave a briefing on the situation and commented on the debate over conduct.
