[Saturday,] November 13, 1948 [Haifa]

In the morning I left for Gvat for a NAHAL meeting. There was a [military] formation - then an assembly. I spoke about the history of our efforts to incorporate work into defense from the time of HaShomer (and before that since the founding of Petah Tikva) up to the Palmach and NAHAL.

       In the afternoon I returned to Haifa.

       - I drank tea with the 7th Brigade commander, Binyamin Ben-David (Dunkelman), who got married. In the action for the liberation of the Galilee he lost 7 who were killed and 30 wounded.

       - In the evening Ya'akov [Dori] telephoned [to say] that he received a cable from Yigael [Yadin] in Paris, where it was agreed that the Southern Front commander would make use of the Air Force and the Artillery Corps against Faluja.

       - In the evening a long conversation with Abba [Khoushy] about the Druze, Arab workers, the Tel Aviv municipality, and more. In his view we'll get a majority, or at least half, in the elections to the Constituent Assembly.
