Sunday, August 22, 1948 [Jerusalem] In the afternoon I went to Jerusalem – for the Zionist General Council meeting. The meeting was opened in the evening by Yosef Sprintzak. There was time for three to speak: myself, Moshe [Sharett], [Abba Hillel] Silver. – At the end of the meeting our faction [met] – regarding the state and the Zionist Organization. We agreed: no transfer of a center to America, the [Jewish Agency] Executive branch office in America remains, government members can remain in the Executive.
