Shlomo [Shamir] notes conflicting outlooks between himself and Yigael [Yadin] (and Ya'akov [Dori]): between army and partisans. He's inclined to leave both the Staff and the command, and to take on a different assignment. I advised that he accept the command and explained the danger of the current situation to him.
I visited the DSP [Department for Staff Positions]
- I dined with the journalists at their club.
- In the afternoon government meeting.
- In the evening a concert honoring [Leonard] Bernstein, who is leaving the country, and commemorating November 29 [the anniversary of the adoption of the UN partition Plan resolution].
