[Saturday,] December 13, 1947 Zabrasky received from [David] Baharal [Jewish Agency deputy treasurer] P£ 124,146 (as against half a million dollars) and from Granovski [Granot, KKL – Jewish National Fund] 60,000 as against a quarter of a million pounds sterling. From the United Jewish Appeal [UJA] P£ 80,000, after paying the December budget for the Organization. P£ 25,000 – from previous funds. [We] need someone in place of [Eliezer] Kaplan, to cosign with [David Zvi] Pinkas for UJA expenditures. The UJA personnel gave Rokach P£ 15,000 (for refugees [persons displaced from the outer neighborhoods of Tel Aviv – Jaffa]). For Haifa P£ 4,000. 28,000 gallons [of fuel] have already been stockpiled and they’ll continue until they reach 50,000 gallons.
