Levitze [Yitzhak Levi] came from Jerusalem again. He left yesterday morning by jeep. The power station is not working. There's no ice in this terrible heat. Harel took 100 vehicles from the last convoy out of Jerusalem, and when they arrived here they (the vehicles) scattered every which way. [Ber] Shmurak [of the Logistics Department] has only 30-40 of these vehicles at his disposal. A significant portion [of the vehicles] are in bad condition. In Jerusalem there remain 130 vehicles, 30 of them light, the rest heavy.

       Yigael [Yadin] also phoned me [to say] that transport has to be arranged for Jerusalem and that it's necessary to confiscate vehicles.

       - In the afternoon a meeting of the council [Provisional State Council] - ended at 1 a.m.
